TREKKING TO SIERRA NEGRA & CHICO VOLCANOES
Sierra Negra is one of the six volcanoes on Isabela, well-known for having the second largest volcanic caldera in the world. Is located about 20km from Puerto Villamil. It’s an amazing point for birdwatching and exploring the vegetation. We suggest you to take the path to Volcán Chico, a collection of small craters where you can see fumaroles and an impressive volcanic landscape.

HIKING & SNORKELING AT TINTORERAS ISLET
Tintoreras, an islet located in the south of Puerto Villamil, has a small and beautiful bay with calm turquoise waters inhabited by sea lions, sea turtles, marine iguanas and manta rays. This bay is connected by a superficial crack with crystalline water. At this lava channel is possible to see colonies of white-tip sharks, tropical fishes and sea lions.

CABO ROSA TUNNELS
It’s one of the most important attractions, located at 40 minutes by boat of Puerto Villamil. It is a spectacular place for scuba diving, birdwatching and meeting with the different marine species like tropical fishes, manta rays, sea turtles, penguins, sea lions, lobsters and sea snakes. These lava formations look like tunnels and along hundreds of years have become a marine paradise inhabited by endemic Galapagos species.

YOU CAN VISIT AMAZING PLACES CLOSE TO THE WOODEN HOUSE LODGE ON FOOT OR ON BIKE
The wetlands are a network of trails, 6 km. long, located pretty close to Puerto Villamil. They have a great variety of flora and fauna, as well as the spectacular landscapes of the bay, the town of Puerto Villamil, volcanoes, islets and rocks.
THE WALL OF TEARS
The Wall of Tears is a historic place on Galapagos, which you can reach by walking or on bike. It is a 100 meters long by 7 meters high wall made of lava rocks, built by a penal colony on the island between 1946 and 1959. During the trail to the Wall of Tears there are various amazing stop points to visit.
ARNALDO TUPIZA TORTOISE CENTER
Here you can find 5 different subspecies of the Galapagos Giant Tortoise endemic from Isabela. At this center, tortoise eggs are carefully incubated, whilst the adults are cared for in large supervised corrals. This breeding program is aiming to increase the population of these amazing animals to ensure their survival as a wild specie of the Galapagos.
CONCHA DE PERLA
A few meters from pier “El Embarcadero” of Puerto Villamil is “Concha de Perla”, a natural pool with crystal clear water, ideal for snorkeling and swimming with sea lions and marine iguanas. Access to this wonderful place is free, however, visitors must bring snorkeling equipment or rent at local agencies in Puerto Villamil.
